Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) is an American actress, singer and dancer. Her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors and directors in stage and on screen throughout all of her career. Ashford can be seen next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford has been engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as a Hulu Original. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Additional Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
